The Lewisville Lions won in a blowout and lost in a close one last week in a two game out-of-region series with North Central last week.
In game one, the Lions took an 11-1 victory, with the game stopped after six innings on the 10-run mercy rule. Lewisville jumped on the Knights early, leading 5-0 after one and 6-0 after three innings.
Dion Brown reached base three times and scored a run, Silas McFadden scored two runs, as did B. Shaver. D. Good had two hits, Ian Grissom delivered a double and the team showed great patience at the plate in general, drawing 10 walks.
Brown picked up the win on the mound, going all six innings, allowing just two hits, one run and five walks while striking out 13.
Lewisville was almost able to rally from a 6-2 deficit in game two, but fell 6-4. Brown had two hits, drove in a run and scored one. Howze had three of Lewisville’s seven hits (including a home run and a double), scored twice and drove in a run.
Lewisville, now 11-7, faced Great Falls Tuesday night, is at York Prep tonight and returns home Thursday to take on Buford.
